Lymphatic system: the other circulatory system

Did you know our lymphatic system aids the immune system in our bodies to remove and destroy waste, pathogens, toxins, and dead blood cells? It also absorbs fats and fat-soluble vitamins from the digestive system delivering the nutrients to the cells of the body where they are needed. Have you considered the significance of the lymphatic system and its connection to your overall well-being?

The lymphatic system is a complex network of tissues, vessels, and organs that helps regulate fluid balance and fight infection. In turn, the vessels drain excess fluid from these tissues and return it back to circulating blood. Taking in proper nutrients and following a healthy diet regimen is important to help the immune system stay strong. It is recommended that everyone should have their lymph system cleansed from all the excess “waste” that has built up during a lifetime.

Some of the problems a proper lymph cleansing can help include: inflamed lymph nodes, high cholesterol, headaches, colds, sinus problems, weak immune system, skin issues, and chronic fatigue.  Take a look at Hanna’s powerful home remedies to cleanse your body’s lymph system!

Hanna’s Home Remedy to “Cleanse” the Lymphatic System

Barley: Boil 3 tablespoons barley in one quart of water for 30 minutes. Add a little clove or cinnamon to taste and drink this in one day to clear lymphatic congestion.

Applewhey: Add 1 pint apple juice, 1 pint water, and 1 pint milk to a pot and slowly heat but do not bring to a boil. After the fluid curdles, strain it through a fine cloth, throw the curds away, and sweeten the remaining liquid with honey. Take 2 tablespoons approximately 5 times a day if you are very weak (your appetite and strength should return soon).

Cucumbers: Drink 4 to 5 cups of cucumber juice daily for one week to purify the system while cleansing your blood and clearing your complexion.

Home Remedy to “Decongest” the Lymphatic System

• 1 pint white grapefruit juice
• 1 pint freshly squeezed orange juice
• 1 pint grape juice
• 1 pint water with the juice of three limes
• 1 pint water with the juice of two lemons
• 1 pint frozen pineapple juice -diluted
• 1 pint papaya juice, diluted
• 12 eggs whole, beaten
• 6 egg yolks, beaten
• Pureed raspberries/strawberries for flavor

Start by beating the eggs and adding to fruit juice mixture.  This blend is a one day supply. If you are hungry eat one type of fresh fruit. For lunch, have a salad with almonds (without dressing) and have the same for dinner along with one steamed vegetable (please try to choose organic juices, fruits, and vegetables).

What Benefits Can You Feel After a Proper Cleansing?

  • Increases Immunity
  • Rejuvenates White Blood Cells
  • Stimulates Glands – Liver, Pancreas, Thyroid
  • Improves Digestion
  • Helps Body Fight Diseases

Hanna’s Helpful Lymphatic System Cleansing Products

Hanna created a special tea, LYM (Lymph), that’s simple in nature but powerful to support the lymphatic system. Red clover flowers and Chaparral herb are the only two ingredients in this product. In addition, Red Clover is one of the world’s oldest herbal remedies and a favorite to address blood and lymph health. Chaparral plays an important role in this tea because it supports the function of the Red Clover and assists the body in flushing out the lymphatic system (if you have liver disease, you should consult your physician before using any product containing Chaparral).

The Lymph Cleanse Blend by EnerHealth is a refreshing combination of Cleavers, Echinacea, Ocotillo bark, Dandelion root, and Red root. This tincture can be helpful for those suffering with tonsillitis, swollen glands, lymphatic congestion, infections, and it provides a nice boost to the immune system.

For decades Hanna taught us the importance of and “how to” properly cleanse and decongest our lymphatic system and wrote about the key points of the body and what to focus on when wishing to “flush” the lymphatic system of impurities, in her book New Dimensions in Healing Yourself. If you’re interested in learning more about other cleansing and home remedies like the one’s listed above, we offer a variety of topics included in some of Hanna’s best-selling books.  Don’t forget to read more home remedy posts in the home remedies section of our blog.

Sweaters, soups and stews, cozy fires and hot beverages are being ushered in with the change of the seasons. As we head into fall we are reaching for things that will warm us from the inside out and teas are at the top of the list for most.

Tea is a natural herbal remedy for many ailments. Tap into its healing powers

Sipping hot tea satisfies something very basic within us once the temperature drops outside and there are a variety of teas that can not only warm us but also heal with their medicinal benefits. Soothing a sore throat, easing a cough, addressing an upset stomach or calming a troubled mind are possible through the effective blends of teas. While humans have relied on plants as a source of food for thousands of years, we have moved away from finding the healing quality in them over time. Why has this changed? The ease of purchasing something from behind or over-the-counter has discouraged us from looking to dried fruits, flowers or herbs to address our ailments in a natural way and we hope we can open a door to begin to alter this thinking.
