A tonic that has a sedative effect on the nervous system, also as a cardiac stimulant. Muscle and nerve relaxant. Balances female hormones. For change of life and depression during this time.

Directions:

Shake well. Use 15 drops 3 times a day or as recommended by a health care professional. May be used in a glass of water or directly on back of tongue. Warm water helps evaporate the alcohol.

PMS: The emotional and physical challenges that are associated with a woman’s menstrual cycle can mean mood swings, cramping, exhaustion, and irritability to name a few. In understanding the challenges and changes in the body, Hanna’s remedies were centered on reducing the effects of PMS.

  • For menstrual cramps: Drink hot ginger tea and take flax oil internally.
  • To soothe monthly symptoms and to nourish and to nourish and comfort the body, Hanna createdFML™ (Female) Tea which is a blend of Calendula flowers, Nettle leaves and Yarrow flowers.
  • To regulate menstruation and reduce effects of PMS: Black Cohosh, magnesium and Female Balance.
    • Black Cohosh is a nerve and muscle relaxant that can balance female hormones; magnesium supports normal blood flow and relaxes muscles, Female Balance™ is a Hanna Kroeger Herbal Combination for mood swings and hormonal imbalances
  • Women need manganese and having a diet rich in it can alleviate symptoms of PMS when menstruation occurs. Herbs with a high level of manganese are Burdock, Kelp and Yellow Dock; foods rich in manganese are avocado, leafy green vegetables, nuts and seeds, whole grains.
  • Hanna encouraged everyone to feed their adrenal glands but especially encouraged women experiencing PMS to do so. How can you?  Menopause: It is not surprising that several of the herbs recommended for PMS are also Hanna’s picks for menopause as they are supporting the female system at any stage but there are some specific to the challenges menopause can present. 

  • For hot flashes: Put 1 tablespoon sage in a cup of hot water and infuse for 20 minutes; drink 1 cup per day. Eat oats and increase cinnamon intake.
  • Yam contains substances similar to progesterone and is useful for menopausal complaints.
  • To increase energy and natural estrogen: Eat sage on buttered rye bread and drink alfalfa tea.
  • During menopause, alternate days between the four following teas: peppermint, alfalfa, chamomile and red clover.

Pregnant? Hanna recommended beginning your day by drinking coconut water to nourish the fetus and to bring clear urine. If stretch marks from pregnancy are a concern to you (or if you presently have stretch marks), Hanna recommended topical application of Emu Oil. For morning sickness, Hanna’s most loved and most effective remedy was to make peach leaf tea (combine 1 teaspoon dried peach leaves in a cup of hot water and allow to steep for two minutes before drinking).

One of Hanna’s favorite home remedies among females is her Home Remedy for Yeast Infections

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • Mix these ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a gentle boil. Allow to cool then strain the solids and add the entire liquid mixture to a warm bath. Soak for 15-20 minutes

Hanna created several celebrated herbal formulas in her lifetime and some remain our best sellers today. One of her most frequently recommended herbal combinations, past and present, is Women’s Gold®. This blend of herbs (Licorice Root, Yarrow, Comfrey Root, Yellow Dock, Dandelion Root) has been celebrated for decades and is considered food for the female reproductive system because of the support it offers. Hanna believed that 90% of the Western population suffers from fungal infections and that the most susceptible to infection are those who are obese, frequently take antibiotics or birth control, people with diabetes, or those with Epstein-Barr or HIV. Fungus spreads rapidly, especially on moist areas of the body and when processed foods or antibiotics are ingested frequently. Because fungus is present on each and every one of our bodies, no matter how healthy we are, looking after our systems internally to avoid infection and the spread of fungus is important. Hanna truly believed in the power of healing our bodies naturally, especially through the foods we eat and shared these remedies:

Hanna’s Food Remedies for Fungus:

  • Drink 3 glasses of Concord grape juice daily
  • Eat 2 tablespoons asparagus twice daily
  • Drink cinnamon tea each morning and evening (add 1 teaspoon freshly ground cinnamon to a mug of hot water, sweeten with honey if desired)
  • Add plenty of alfalfa sprouts, chickpeas and sage to your diet
  • Drink aloe vera juice
  • Clear fungus using Hanna’s interferon recipe (Each morning eat 1 pint cottage cheese with 5 tablespoons of walnut, apricot or almond oil. Continue for 3 weeks)
  • Eat Hanna’s natural antibiotic foods: grapefruit, garlic, willow, radish, chlorophyll and bee pollen

Eating these foods will help to keep fungus levels in check in your system but if you’re already experiencing the symptoms of a fungal infection, there are additional (but still natural!) measures you can take. Once a fungal infection occurs in our systems there is a great chance that it will return several times throughout the year if it is not addressed properly. Yeast infections, for example, impacts the comfort of at least 75 million women worldwide annually according to The Fungal Research Trust. What’s worse? Of those women, nearly 10% will experience up to 4 repeated infections within the year. Struggle to keep itchy athlete’s foot at bay? This list is compiled from Hanna’s book, Help One Another, and is only a sample of the items she recommended to take internally for fungal infection. Fungus that is taking hold in the system can lead to a number of illnesses that are often misdiagnosed for other illnesses which means that the overgrowth is allowed to continue and the condition can become much worse before it becomes better. Some indications of a possible fungal infection (other than the certain presence of conditions like a yeast infection or athlete’s foot that you can see/feel) include skin trouble resulting in acne or dull skin and stomach or digestive issues. Because of the toxins that a fungal infection creates in our systems, our intestinal lining can become inflamed or permeated causing leaky gut, a painful and wounded digestive system that can cause irritable bowel, constipation, or impact the proper absorption of nutrients from the foods we eat. Cinnamon[1]

A common complaint of fungal overgrowth on the body is the presence of a dry, itchy, red rash. With winter approaching it will be easy to assume the change in temperature is the culprit but don’t discount the possibility of fungus! For fungus on the skin Hanna believed in applying diluted cinnamon oil directly to the area several times a day until it disappears.
