Yarrow  Achillea millefolium

Yarrow has low growing leaves with straight flower stalks, and a height of up to 3 feet and a width of up to 1 foot. The flowers are tight groups of tiny, 1/4-inch white flowers, clustered in 3-inch umbels on stiff, upright stems.

Yellow dock is a common weed, found nearly world-wide. It quickly inhabits cultivated ground and grows along road sides producing copious quantities of seed each fall.

Yerba Santa  Eriodictyon californicum

A handsome, sticky-shiny dark green shrub, up to 8 feet in height, but usually around waist to chest high. It grows on ridges and slopes from the north coastal range of California as far south as Monterey County, up into southern Oregon and down the west side of the Sierra Nevadas from near Mount Lassen to almost as far as Tehachapi.

Yohimbe  Pausinystalia johimbe

Tropical evergreen tree with reddish brown bark, oblong or elliptical leaves, and clusters of small yellow flowers. Winged seeds follow the flowers. Height: Up to 100 feet. Native to West Africa. Not cultivated.
